I am coming to Bari on 12th July via cruise ship. I have been looking to hire a car for the day but I cannot find any information on where the nearest car hire depot is to the cruise terminal. Does anyone know this information? If so please share. I am looking at either visiting Trani or going to see the Trulli houses, which is the best option? Thanks Neil
You will find car rental offices near Bari Centrale, the main train station. This station is less than a mile away from the dock area, so a longish walk if you have too much luggage or a short taxi ride. If you don't have luggage, then it should be no more than a pleasant 15-20 minute stroll through town (note: I have not been to Bari, so it could be a horrible slum for all I know ;-) ). For example, the Avis office is at Via L Zuppetta, 5/A Bari, 70057 , IT (39) 080-5247154 This office looks to be about 100 meters from the station entrance. Note that its hours are Mon - Fri 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, so it's closed for 2 hours midday. Bill

Unfortunetely I've read your question too late...however shops were open 6th and 7th,in fact sales began on 6th. more
