Dear friends, we have booked tickets to Spain for September 15/9-22/9. Barcelona, Madrid and Toledo. Pls can you help me with my first question?
Because the train from Barcel. to Madrid is very expensive I'm thinking of traveling by plane. I have to book this flight as well in order to get cheaper prices.
We arrive in Barcel. on 15/9 late at night. So we have 16/9 and 17/9 for Barcelona. Now in order to travel to Madrid on 18/9 shall we take the early morning plane or better leave some time more for barcel. and take a later flight?
Do you think we have more to see in Madrid and should spend there 3 days instead of 2 and a half?
I really don't know what to expect in Barcelona. I read some posts but I'm not sure. Of course we might also have our luggage with us this last day if the hotel doesn't agree to keep them. The possible flights are at 9.30-10.50, 14.00-15.20 and 16.00-17.20. So what do you suggest?

He everyone, I wanted to offer you visiting Barcelona with me!
I finished my course of Oficial Tour Guide in Barcelona but there are not exams this year (again) so I thought I shouldn´t wait doing nothing but trying to do some practice. So if you would like to visit the city with someone who lives here since 2001 do not hesistate to contact me! I would love to show yo my city (as long as I have time to do that) doing The Old city Tour where many of monuments are hidden beetwen the buildings. Its totally for free!! I am not sure if I can leave that kind of message in this forum, I am looking for different ways to do the practice in different languages (Polish, Spanish, English). If the moderartor find this message inproper please delete it.
Best regard from one of the most beatiful city in the world!!!
We are invited by friends to spend some days in September in the appartment they have rented in Barcelona carrer Gabriele Miro (Barcelona). In the group, I am in charge of food but looking at Google map I do not see any supermarket in the area, neither a restaurant.
On the map, I see the appartment is near the sea but I do not found a beach.
A Vter can tell me what there is also as attractions nearby ?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Hello, I was told that the first sunday of every month the museums in Barcelona are open for free. I wanted to see if someone could tell me if this information is true so I can plan my visist according to it.
Where is the best place to change dollars to euros to get the best exchange rate
Might anyone have suggestions about the Top 3 neighbourhoods to stay in while visiting Barcelona? I'm mostly concerned with proximity to the major things to see.
Could you advise is we can hop-off the rack train on the way from Ribes de Freser to Val de Nuria, let's say in Queralbs (to visit for an hour or so) and then take the next rack to Nuria (something like a hop-on/hop-off) using the same ticket?
Thanks for your time, Carmen
There are 5 families traveling to Barcelona mid of April for 4 nights. They prefer an apartment style as there are 3 children & 2 teenagers which means we can do light cooking. Total would be 16 people. Preferrably along side of Passeo de Gracia. Budget would be between 80Euros - to 100 Euros per night.
We are from Barcelona but presently traveling in Asia. If only I had the Barcelona telephone book, I know I would see many agencies for this matter. We hope to hear from you guys that are presently in Barcelona. We deeply thank you for any effort you can do on our behalf. Thanking you all!!!! Warm regards to all!!!!
Is it worthwhile taking those if one has about 5 hours to spend at Montserrat?
I am arriving at Barcelona T1 5/21 at 2:25p.m.and want to take 4:40p.m. bus to Girona, Should that give me sufficient time to get baggage, find the bus etc. and is there a taxi stand in Girona to get me to Hotel Historic?
I need to make a 4:10 p.m. flight, and there is a bus leaving at 7:50, which should give me plenty of time.
Just confirm I am reading the schedule correctly, i.e.. that May is the winter schedule?
Can I pay on the bus or do I need to get a ticket beforehand?
I need to make the 4:10 plane, so I am assuming the bus is the best way to go since it goes directly to T1. THANKS!
We are trying to help my very closest relatives who are touring Barcelona. There would be total of 5 couples. Each couple has at least two young children. They prefer to rent perhaps 3 pisos. The location they prefer is in the area of Paseo de Gracia, Eixample, or even in the local of Sagrada Familia. They will be arriving mid of April. They need accommodation for 5 nights in Barcelonal. Would anyone out there know of a reliable, trustworth , real estate 'apartotel'?
I'm in Barcelona right now and will stay here for a couple more days. Me and my friend thought of going to Montserrat monastery. What we'd like to do is .... to go by public transport as close as possible to the mountains and then hike to the monastery (heard it's possible and lots of people do that?).
We read that there are trains to Montserrat for about 11 euros and back 19 euros but the price of the funicular or the cab up to the hill is already included. Someone told me there are tickets for 18.5 both ways... Does anyone know if it's possible to get a ticket without paying the transport up the hill? (Couch/train?) Moreover, we've heard that hiking up the hill takes approximately 3 hours. Is that correct? And of course, is the place to where public transport arrives the place from where the hiking routes commence?
Last but not least, we could go there on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday. We're not sure whether there is any difference? (more/less people, something special happening there?).
Thanks in advance!
I have a very good level at horseriding (I can be a teacher if i want to); where can I practice in barcelona? I am a student so cheaper is better and I do not have a car. (horseball, polo, cross, anything really) : )
Me and my cousin are going on a 3 day holiday to Barcelona for the first time and we would like an idea of how much money we should take.
We plan on visiting 'The Nou Camp', 'Catalunya Circut' however we would like some recommendations on other attractions if possible. We want to see some of the Gaudi architecture, cathedral and some nice bars. I'm celebrating my birthday whilst I'm out there so we would be spending an evening drinking and socializing if anyone has any recommendations. (We wouldn't be going clubbing, just a nice drink)
Is the metro expensive? Are the stations as close together as say the London Underground stations are, and is it easy to navigate?
Ultimatley how much should we budget for each day if we want a few beers, a spot of lunch and dinner and to see the amazing city!
Sorry for all the questions! Figured this would be my best place to get reliable answers! Cheers if you can help us!
Hi Can anyone recommend an aparthotel in the city?
my wife and i would like to spend 10 days there during June 2014
Hi, My friends and I are visiting Barcelona for 4 days mid January, and we would like to watch Flamenco show!
Any recommended places to go to?..Of course the cheaper, the better ;)
I have only 3 days in Barcelona. As first time visitor and I have a limited budget, which area is a safe and the best place to stay?
We will be in Barcelona in early October and want to use our British Airways Avios points to book our hotel. We are a couple in our 50's who like quiet, authentic, boutique hotels and have viewed the Hotel Colon and H10 Raco Del Pi online as they redeem Avios points. We would appreciate any feedback as to which of these two would be favorable, and would also welcome other suggestions. We previously stayed at the Gran Medinacil so would like to try the Gothic area this time. Thank you!
I have my pre-cruise hotel in Venice picked, but I am now looking at where to stay post-cruise in Barcelona. Looking for clean, safe location and central hotel in Barcelona. Will only have 2 nights after our cruise, so would be nice to be close to things. Also, as it's impossible to see everything in that length of time, what would be the things we shouldn't miss in Barcelona? I would love to see Flamenco -- any suggestions for that? Thank you.
I from Ukraine but study in Poland. I want to go to Barcelona in the next weekend. Can you recommended me where I can go, what the interest places in Barcelona? And where I can stay for 2 nights? Thanks you for help
Me and my friend are going to visit Barcelona. I would be grateful if someone could recommend cheap but cosy places to stay for 3-4 nights? Thank you in advance :)
Will be in Barcelona for 1 day only on a cruise ship. Would really like to vist La Sagrada Familia & Picasso venues. How do I get to these venues. I understand there is a shuttle bus from Ship to a statue in Colombus circle/square where there is a big identify statue and that I should be able to get a taxi from there, but I have been looking at maps and can not locate where taxi rank would be. If I did get a taxi to either place how easy is it to get a return taxi. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Hello. I'm mexican and I'm going to study at the Barcelona Autonomous University next year. I'm starting to think about my life there, and I was wondering if someone could give me information about what could be my best option to get an internet service. I would like to use this on a laptop,an Ipad and an Iphone and I would like it to be as cheap as possible, since I will be a student with limited economic resources.
Also I make the same question about a phone service, I'll take my cell from Mexico, but I'll have to get a new number there. I don't talk much so I mainly need it to be available for people that could be loking for me.
I need a luggage transfer from Barcelona airport T1 to the cruise port. Anyone know how to contact?
Dear friends! Could you give me any advices about places of interest in Barcelona? I am going there second time and already visited the most popular sites - Sagrada Familia, Pedrera, park Guel, museum of arts of Catalonia, of Miro, Picasso, Monjuic, cathedral, Colon statue... I visited museums of Dali in Figerois and Port Lligat, and went to Girona.
So i'd like to see something more. I plan to attend Palau de Musica, Casa Battlio. May be you know other splendid places? My short trip to Barcelona will be at the end of November. Thank you.
I am going to visit Barcelona for 1 day trip. In which location of the city, I should book my hotel?
My next door neighbors are going on a cruise ship leaving from Barcelona Spain. It is a Disney cruise ship. They will be stopping at many European ports of call, so obviously they will need Euros for when they visit these cities. But they are not sure what will be accepted on board ship to pay for misc. expenses like drinks and tips. Will it be American because it's an American ship or Euros because they will be in European waters. I also think they will have an on-board credit card to pay for some expenses but you usually have to pay tips in cash.
Hi!, Anybody know where can i leave my luggage nearest Barcelona Cruise Port? :)
What is the best way to get from the airport into the city?
