We will be in Barcelona from Sept. 1, 2012 to Sept. 4, 2012. We are looking at the Catalonia Catedral and Hotel Montecarlo. Does anyone have recommendations as to which is a better venue and more centralized for tourist attractions? Thank you
never stayed on them, you can check destinations above right and see if they have rating here by posters like us. as far as location the Catedral for me its better because closer to my favorite area of Exaimple. hope it helps

Near the the old Cathedral (by metro Jaume 2) is a very fun Basque style tapas place called Orio Euskal on calle Ferran (n my Barcelona page). Not only are the tapas on plates on the bar, but the waiters also carry around trays of the latest creation of the chef. The Catalonia Catedral hotel is right in the center of things. Karl

in Exaimple district my favorites are Casa Lucio Calle Viladomat 59 Ciudad Condal Rambla de Catalunya 18, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, Cerveseria Catalana Carrer de Mallorca 236 Great tapas real locals places, dont know if coming by car I park mine by the bulevar Rosa shopping center ,here is the map http://www.bulevardrosa.com/#Info at informaticion, hit parking and the map is shown hope it helps

I am only familiar with the Monte Carlo and went by it in April of this year. It is right on the Las Ramblas and is very popular with folks going on cruises. Very nice street appeal and lobby. From what I know about it not only are the rooms nice but the staff are exceptional. The location is also perfect and some of the rooms have great views of Las Ramblas. In addition, be sure to bring a money belt or something around your neck to hold your important documents. The stickiest fingers in the world reside in Barcelona so please be safe.
