Hi Can someone propose a 4D Barcelona and 2D Madrid trip please? I am planning this for end August - what would the weather be like during that period? Is there any recommended wine tours and is August the right season to visit? Thanks!
Couple of ideas for Barcelona: 1) Walking tour of old town 2) Some beach time 3) Take the Blue Tram and then funicular to the top of Mt Tibadabo

1. Barcelona, 4 days: barcelonaturisme.com/English... 2. Madrid, 2 days: travel.aol.com/travel-guide/... 3. Hot, although you may get a sea breeze in Barcelona. Google barcelona/madrid weather august. 4. From Barcelona would be best: http://www.bcn.travel/tours/details/33203/wine-cava-route-bus-tour/?gclid=COza9P_h7LACFVMetAodsk4swA or www.foodwinetours.com 5. Not for me - too hot!

There's a lot to see and do in Barcelona depending on what your interests are. so, what are they? Without that info, we can't give more than you'd find in any guidebook. August? No, probably the worst time to visit either place. Will be unbearable hot and semi-deserted; all the locals head for the hills or beaches. But, if it's the only time you have to go, then it's better than not going at all. Badger

I was in Barcelona in August and I found it hot but not umberable as the sea breeze helps keep the humidity low, I am used to much worst humidity level in Padova. I don't know about Madrid, I would imagine it to be hotter. I can give you suggestion how to spend some evening if you are there in the right days.. In Barcelona August is festivals time, Festa Major de Gracia is wonderful, this year from 15 August to 21 August, lots of music and events. More info here barcelonayellow.com/bcn-even... I believe the weekend after that one there is another festival in a different neighbor but right now I can't find it online. I loved the Festa Major, it was a great way to spend a evening having dinner in the area and than walking from street to street to listen to the different music situation. Btw, this is a great restaurant in the area, at least it was in 2007, we went back three time out of our 10 days in Barcelona. Taberna El Glop: "Grill masters" - El Glop Tip by oriettaIT

Thanks everyone. =) I think I would be able to survive the hot weather. Haha. Will look up attractions in greater detail and then post specific questions on the forum.

Hi and Shalom; We did a 6 day trip in October and did not manage to see all that we had desired to see in Barcelona...oh well, I guess that just means that we will "have" to return. As for your question, take a look at my Barcelona pages and then if you have specific questions I can be of more help. But whatever you do and however long you stay you will enjoy this most enjoyable of cities. Martin (PS: yes the weather in summer will be hot, but plan a rest break around the hottest hours and then enjoy the nightlife.)
