Will be staying in Barcelona for 3 nights, prior to a sailing, the end of October 2012. Would apprciate input regarding reasonable hotels and what to see. Thank you in advance.
We stayed in a Bed and Breakfast last month for 4 nights. Anita's Bed and Breakfast on Mt. Tibadabo for 79 Euros per night. Things to do. Parc Guell Las Ramblas Waterfront Walking Tour of Gothic (Old Town) Magic Fountain for Water Show on Thurs to Sunday That's a start and about 1/2 of what we did.

I have two recommendations for you both very different depending o For a centrally located hotel that is also within a short taxi ride to the cruise terminal I would recommend the Hotel Monte Carlo. While we did not stay there the folks that we met who were cruising swore by it and they have stayed in many different cruise hotels in Barcelona over the years. It is centrally located in the Las Ramblas area and the hotel has outstanding service and gorgeous rooms. here is a link; montecarlobcn.com/en/hotel-h... We stayed at a smaller more intimate bed and breakfast that is located midway between the Las Ramblas and the La Sagrada Familia. Rates are a little over half of what they are at the Monte Carlo and the 8 or so rooms are very well appointed. The owners of the hotel are a source of great information on Barcelona and the rate includes a very nice breakfast. Trip advisor has consistently rated this in the top 2 or 3 of all b & b's in Barcelona. We enjoyed ourselves here immensely. It is within 100 meters of the nearest metro stop. here is a link; http://www.barcelonabb.com/

We enjoyed the hop on off bus tour, saw all the sights for reasonable price. A very easy way to get around, as the sights are spread out over the city.
