What is the best way to get from the airport to a hotel, and from the port to a hotel? And are any of the hotels near the airport OK?
you can get a bus right outsife the airport that stops at the top of the ramblas, or jump on a train, they are both cheap. use the metro in bcn, get a T10 ticket, very cheap gives you 10 trips anywhere in bcn/

The best way is of course by Taxi. I found the taxis in Barcelona to be reasonable and they are quick to get you from point A to B, including luggage. No need for a hotel by the airport in less you have a very late or very early flight. The area around Plaça de Catalunya in the center of Barcelona has many hotels to choose among. The bus stop is located there as well a many taxis. I have taken taxis from both the airport and to and from the port. Very easy and stress free. That is the way to travel and for only a few dollars more. Enjoy. :-)
