I've been invited to Bangladesh in January, but my husband is somewhat concerned about terrorism and political violence, particularly in view of the unrest over the coming elections. The friend I will be visiting said a few months ago that it would not be a problem for a foreigner, but I've been checking the Daily Star (internet edition)every now and then, and things do seem pretty tense. Should I try to postpone my trip until after the elections even though the weather may not be ideal, or should I just hope for the best? I would be staying mostly in Chittagong, I think, although I had previously thought of some more extended boat trips.
Thanks for any impressions!
