Hi everybody! Can you recommend a good tour operator in Bangkok? WIll be visiting for the first time on October. Thanks
There are cheaper "shared van" tours you can get from local Thai travel agencies on short notice. Usually choose the tour you want from the menu that the travel agency has and leave the following morning. Some evening tours and dinner cruises may be booked the same day if you are early enough. Some hotels have tour desks. You are on a van with 8 or 9 other tourists visiting tourist attractions. There are other travel guides like Tong and Rat who charge more for specialized service. Rat and Tong come up all the time on travel forums. Tours I have been on have always been the normal shared van tours. Tour company will pick up at your hotel and return you there at the end of the trip. I always have a hat to keep the sun off my face and some sun block. When away from your hotel for several hours always have some toilet paper and hand wipes in your bag. http://tourwithtong.com/index.htm http://ratservice.com/ List of tours on this link. bangkokadvisor.com/Bangkok-T... I have taken many of the cheaper tours provided by travel agencies over the past dozen years. For those just find the nearest one or two travel agencies near your hotel and go with the one you feel comfortable with. Or use your hotel tour desk. Have fun.

To have joining tour is cheap but sometime it is not a good idea because you have to be on program and join others people which you don't know. it is another way to travel or sight seeing Bangkok by hire a private tour guide but take adventure by taking public transports such as Sky train, river boat Tuk Tuk or sometime walk is still faster because of the traffic. If you agree try this www.sasinatransport.com or search on craigslist Bangkok traveling.

Being on a cheap tour is a way to meet other tourists. There are many destinations to choose from. The tour company picks you up at your hotel and will return you there at the end of the trip. But if you have extra money to spend you can buy into a more expensive private tour. There are some things you can visit on your own in the city but be aware of some of the "closed palace" scams, "tuk-tuk scams" and know how to use a meter taxi. (A Google check will give you more info on various scams.)
