China Tourist Visa for (US) Citizen

Hello everyone, A friend is currently making her way through Thailand up towards Bangkok, hoping to get a tourist visa for China. Is this still possible, particularly for a US citizen? Would Chiang Mai be a safer bet? Thanks and kop kun krup for your assistance. -BikkleYunker

    Personally, I would give it a go in Bangkok. The embassy is easily accessed from the "RAMA IX" MRT station. I can't think of any advantage Chiangmai would hold. http://g.co/maps/hzkyf
