Dear friends, If I would like to reach Mandarin Oriental Hotel on a weekday by 10am, I'm going from MBK area, is taxi advisable? Or should a take bts/mrt to Takshin station and take a ferry? If taking ferry, is it a fixed stop or? Sorry if the question is a little silly as I have never been there... Thanks.
Definitely take the BTS from National Stadium to Saphan Taksin. You can hop on an orange flag boat, one stop to Oriental.

Thanks for the reply. Do I have to buy tickets for the boat? How much is per trip? Also I heard that I can also take a boat to chinatown?

buy the ticket on the boat, 15 baht. Chinatown would be accessed from pier #5, Ratchawong, also 15 baht. All destinations, via the orange flag, are 15 baht.

There will be a kiosk at the Sathorn pier that will try to sell 150 baht "unlimited" tourist boat tickets. These are good only for tourist boats, which are very limited in numbers and have limited stops. "Oriental" isn't one of the stops. Just hang out on the pier. When an orange flag shows up, follow the people. It show board from the far right pier entrance.
