Is it safe to travel to Bangkok?

Hi all, I will travel to thailand in june. I am going to stay in Ambassadors Hotel in Bangkok; is it located near Red Shirts Hot Area ??? Is it save to move arround in Bangkok, like malls and shops ?? Appreicate your comments Thanks

    safe to move around, you can hang out with the army too
