Hi! Try Khao San Rd or Sukhumvit Rd, it is very cheap, and it is easy to find action around. Take a bus just outside the Airport - 100 Thb (single way) Best. Per

Hi, Staying around Sukhumvit Road will definitely solve all your headace. Night life, shopping, food and etc are easily accessible from there. For 50 pound a night budget, you have more than enough to spend on any 5 star hotel. JW Marriot or Grand Sheraton are highly recommended. Cheers.... AC

Hi The British embassy is on Wireless Road near its junction with Sukhumvit. So the best areas for you to stay if you want to be near it, would be either Sukhumvit or Siam. The Novotel in Siam is well placed for the skytrain and for very good shopping on your doorstep. It is also easy to get to Sukhumvit for more shopping or nightlife. On Sukhumvit you might want to look at the Bel Aire Princess which is also near the skytrain. Probably better located for nightlife but not as good for shopping. For sightseeing as long as you are near the skytrain then you should be ok because you can get a train to Saphan Taksin on the river and from there you get a ferry up the river to many of the sights (chinatown, grand palace etc) Cheers Phil

Hi - for 50 pounds a night you could probably get a room at the Pathumwan Princess, connected to the MBK mall. Check out the website at: http://www.pprincess.com/ Hotels on Sukhumvit are good value, though - I usually manage to get a room at the Bel-Aire Princess, which is a nice hotel, for under 30 pounds a night. The sleazy side of the area is fairly easily ignored - at least that's how I find it. Cheers, Jeremy

Thank you so much for your advice. not so bothered about the 5 star, 4 star would do - aslong as it is well situated and has a pool -and I do tend to like a nice room as well. Not looking for much am I....? Any advice would be good - planning to go to the JW Marriott to begin with - but would like to move on after 2/3 days. Thankyou
