- I need help. I am contemplating either to visit Kampung Naga or Puncak. I understand both are long journey. For Kampung Naga I like the idea of visiting those traditional village plus the view of rice terraces while for Puncak, people i speak to say is a must go since u are at Bandung. I did a research on Puncak and nothing much apart from the view and also the Zoo Safari. Pls help me on this . Thks
Shopping at Jln Chimpelas, Jlan Riau etc
Chill at Hotel before check out.
- all are in local time. I am hiring a private driver recommended by my friend throughout my stay.
Could you help me with these:
(a) how much is it to hire a driver for a day - to go to Lembang area for the volcano and hotsprings? Actually, we will be spending a night at one of the resorts in Lembang but I expect we still need to hire a car for the trip there? Please advise.
(b) I plan to go from Bandung to Yogya to re-visit Borobodur (it's been about 20 years since my first and last visit there). Could you advise about transport (train - time, how to get ticket, fare... or other means)? Also, any places I should see in between or around there as well?
Thanks so much... I have again been too busy with work to really read up much.
This is my 1st trip to Bandung or should i say my first to Indonesia. 4 of us (2 couples) will be travelling early nxt month and plan to stay for 5 nights. Can anybody recommend me a 2 bedroom apartment in the midst and or within the vicinity of the main shopping district, reasonably priced. We will be hiring a "supir" there and plan to do some sightseeing too. any interesting places to visit. Thank you
Hi there! I am expected to join Institute of Technology in Bandung (ITB) and will stay there for 2 years as a student. Last time I visit there for a short time, I stayed in Cisitu area- it was very close to the campus and enjoyable to live for a short time, but not for a long time. So.. I would like to know whether there is such an area that many foreigners live.- it might means that the area is safe, quite easy to live with english, and easy to find variety of foods. As I searched earlier, Setiabudi / Cihampelas area is both close to the campus and having shopping mall, but I'd like to ask to the people who live/lived there. It would be very helpful if you share your idea of the area and maybe the average cost per month! Thanks in advance!
Will appreciate if anyone could recommend where to eat cheap(but nice) seafood in Bandung?
Many thanks in advance.
I will be going to Bandung on 21 March some of the places i am interested to go will be: - Kawah Putih, Tangkuban Perahu, Pasar Baru, Cihampelas walk mall, bandung indah plaza mall, paris van java and Rumah Mode factory outlet.
I will be there for around 2-3 days and will it be better for me to get a driver to drive to me all these places?
How much will it be per day and how will it be charged?
Kindly enlighten me as this is my first time going.
Thanks in adv.

My group of friends (total 8 adults) will be visiting Bandung in April for 4 days. We'll be staying at Jl Progo. It is our 1st visit & we're looking for a reliable car/driver. I received a quote for 500,000rps for airport transfer & shopping for 1st day & 1 mil rps per day for trips to the volcanos. We were given a Toyota Avanza & Isuzu Elf. As I do not know much abt cars, is the Toyota Avanza able to seat 8 adults? Also is the cost reasonable? Any advice you can give would be much appreciated.
I have just emailed Aldhy for his availability/cost. I note that you had recommended him highly.

Hello! I was hoping someone could tell me what areas in Bandung are considered less safe and perhaps experience higher levels of crime than other areas of the city. As a foreigner are there areas, districts or streets, that should be avoided because they are lots of petty criminals, or are known to be gang areas?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
