I heard from there news there is a huge flood happened in Satun province (where I plan to depart from Pak Barra).
1. Could someone advise me how's the flood condition doing over there?
2. Any chance for the Boat transportation from Pak Barra pier to Koh Lipe be cancel or available?
3. Hows the weather doing there in Koh Lipe? Still raining lately and anticipate to rain in next few days?
Looking at going here for a week next september for my wife's birthday. Kids will be 8 & 5.
I'm looking at Na thong beach area as it seems to be the centre and ideal for walking.
Anyone stayed at The Sands resort? Or any other beachfront resorts to recommend? (not super expensive)
How's the shopping/restuarants? Any suggestions of nearby places to visit?
Thanks in advance
We are finding it to get accommodation in Ko Lanta in this last minute during the peak season. Please suggest a location that is as good as Ko Lanta and where we could find accommodation. We would be traveling in the 3rd week of December. Any information with regard to good accommodation in Ko Lanta or elsewhere in the Krabi region would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Travelling to phuket in Jan. Normally go to Bali and stay at the Padma. (Legian area). I'm looking for a resort that's near the beach and similar to Padma standard, close to shopping and restaurants (walking distance). Patong, Karon or Kata? any advice would be great
I am visiting Phuket with 3 other friends on Jan 2014. I am planing to go for a Phang Nga Bay/ James Bond Island/ sea caves Day Tour.
I have searched through the internet prices and it is between 1500 - 2000 TBH (with hotel transfer, lunch, snorkeling items. speed boat)
Is this the normal range for this trip? Does it get any cheaper if I book after going to phuket and meet local travel agents?

Just to be safe as I have a limited amount and want to know how much I should have in order to be comfortable

We are travelling up to KL on 11th May from Phuket and were planning on just showing up and booking somewhere to stay then - is this feasible here? We're after air-con bungalow, preferably close to the beach.
Hi, I have travelled to Thailand lots of times Phuket, Chang Mai, Bangkok etc but never been to Khao lak or Koh Samui( the other choice ). We love patong beach and have stayed at Merlin, Duangjitt, Club Andaman but Patong is just too busy so our group is looking for somewhere like a littke Patong, Do people think Khao Lak or Lamai or Chaweng. Is there shopping at Khao lak ?
What would be a nice hotel like the above mentioned ones there.
Also it does appear that Khao lak and Samui is more expensive then Phuket?
We will be travelling with a group of 18 couples, we like to have evening drinks and relax by pool and go shopping.
