Hello, Last year my son and I vivited Ballyvaughn. My son took the Burren hike. We also visited your beautiful church.Would you please tell me what the circle of stones means? It is 10 stones in a circle with people raising their hands towards heaven. Also inside was a beautiful poem.It started out,You have come into this house where God lives.Did William Yates write this? My family is from around this area.It is my dearest wish that I can return to your beautiful country. I thank you ever so much.Vicki Sharon Boland Peters

Hi Vicky and welcome to VT, sorry I don’t know the answers to your questions. If you don’t get results here on VT you might try emailing your questions directly to the parish priest in Ballyvaughan at richardflanagan@O2.ie
The full text of that poem/prayer is here: clarecourier.ie/article.asp?...
I doubt that William Butler Yeats was the author, he was Theosophist and more interested in spirituality and Eastern philosophy than any specific Christian religion.
    All the best,
    Anne Marie

Not much help but I don't think the poem is W.B.Yeats but it in many churches and Chapels around Ireland.

You have come into this house
    where God lives.
Whoever you are, He welcomes you,
with your gladness and your sadness,
    your successes and your failures,
    your hopes and you disappointments.
    Be welcome!
Before you others have loved this place,
helped to build it and make it beautiful,
    and they have prayed here.
    Respect it. Be silent.
    If you believe, pray!
    If you are seeking, think!
If you are doubting, ask for light!
If you are suffering, ask for strength!
If you are joyful, give thanks to God,
    and may your happiness continue.
In this house you may meet others
and be able to pray with them.
May your stay in this place
    remain in your heart!

Whoever you are, He welcomes you.
    Welcome Him too.

    Vicki,
The sculpture is titled Victorious Spirit by Hattie Hammersmith, created as a gift to the church, while she was a student at the Burren College of Art, in 2002. "The figures represent the human spirit victorious over the earthly barriers represented by the arches. Twelve spirits in an eternal circle, arms raised victorious in praise to God. We face many challenges, many barriers in our life here on earth. My faith in God has enabled me to overcome much in my life and be strengthened by the process."

    Ann
