    • Alone to Sunny beach? End of June?

Sunny Beach Jun 22, 2015 at 12:40 PM

      Hey,

I was wondering if it's a good idea to go to Sunny Beach all by myself, my friends have no time/money sadly. But i'd still like to have a good time this year. I was also wondering if the end of June is a good period to go there since it's a bit early. As in will there be enough people around my age(23) to party/socialize with?

I hope someone can help me out here.

Good one or two day destinations in Serbia or Macedonia from Sofia

      Sofia Jun 22, 2015 at 7:00 PM

      Hello VTers!

I will be making a trip through Bulgaria for two weeks in August with a native friend. At the end of that time I will be arriving back in Sofia and will part from my friend for the last three days. I want to use those three days to see another country, either Macedonia or Serbia, ideally both. I will have my ten year old daughter with me and I have read enough to know that I won't be able to drive a rental car into Macedonia and probably not to Serbia either. I am thinking that if there is a company that does daytrips to either (like get on the bus, go there, hop off, get back on the bus at the end of the day) place it would be nice. I would also think outside the box if there are other ways. Any advice or experience you want to share will be gratefully accepted!

      Ruse Jun 21, 2015 at 1:19 AM

Is it possible to travel from Burgas via Ruse to Bucharest by bus / train in one day. We are at present intending to cath a Certop Bus from Burgas sector 11 Monday June 22, as we speak only English we are having serious trouble communicating with locals. We are resigned to staying overnight in Ruse but there seems to be a chance that we can complete the journey in one day, Phil and Sue

      Holiday in Balchik / Russalka

by poutza Online Now Sep 4, 2005 at 12:10 PM

Anyone can recommend a nice hotel/ pension in Balchik for a 3-4 days trip?
I am an adult with two kids, so probably breakfast included won't be bad. Also, I'm gonna drive from Romania ,so if I can't find anything affordable ( 50 euros/night it's what I would find convenient ) we can move to another nearby place , like Albena or Golden Sands.
      Thank you very much.
PS Can anyone tell me something about Russalka?-i.e. is there a hotel or a holiday village?; what are the rates etc.I ask because is very close to my place in Romania.Same thanks.

      About a Hollyday in Balchic

by Irina Online Now Apr 28, 2005 at 4:24 AM

      Hello!
I have some questions about Balchik:
      - how is the seaside? Is there nice sand or nasty rocs?
      - is there any nice pension/ guesthouse? If not, what about hotels?
      - I know what is to be visited and that's why I've choose Balchik, but what are the nightlife attractions? At least bowling and discos?

Last but not least: what would be your reccommendation? I'd like to go on the Bulgarian seaside because it's not far from my place (Bucharest), have a good bath in the sea, lie on a nice beach, get out in the evenings with my husband and friends and stay in a nice room (with adjacent bathroom), preferably with windows to the sea.
      Any suggestions?

      Thank you very much,
      Irina.

Tips for living and eating in Balchik

by mumwithbabies Online Now Nov 15, 2004 at 9:43 AM

My parents have just purchased a house in a small village just outside of Balchik. My father is (to my shame) staunchly British in his taste for food and misses his fry-ups and "english" food. Can anybody give me any good tips to pass on to him for eating out in this region. Also any tips on how they can make some friends out there would be great.
