Hi,
I am a female. I have been offered a job in Bahrain and will be moving out there from London in September for 2 years. My employer will be sorting my visa and accommodation but I need some advice regarding my partner joining me, living arrangements, how to go about his visa and job prospects.
Is it best for him to apply for a 3 month visiting visa? Is there anything more permanent than this available?
What will be required of him in terms of reasoning for why he is visiting? Is it ok for him to say he is coming with me? - we are not married.
Is it best for him to apply for jobs from the UK before hand or to get the 3 month visiting visa and look once there?
Is it ok for us to live together, not being married?
Separate to this topic....what is Bahrain like for a young expat couple? - dress, social plus anything else :)

I'm a 26 y/o white US woman with a 12 hour layover (1pm-1am) in Bahrain in August. I'd really like to get out of the airport and check out Manama during my layover but I'm wondering if I'll be alright as a woman travelling on my own. I understand the need to dress conservatively, that won't be an issue. Also, any advice on what/where to fit in my 12 hours?

I am looking for a single accomadation, like paying guests, single room accomadation. Could any body tell me about how to look out for a sinle accomadaiton and how much it costs for month. 2how much the monthly expenses for a single ( including grocery , going out , electricity , water , telephones .......... ) , with a good standard of life ?? or How much it costs to rent a single bedroom house.
