I'm a 26 y/o white US woman with a 12 hour layover (1pm-1am) in Bahrain in August. I'd really like to get out of the airport and check out Manama during my layover but I'm wondering if I'll be alright as a woman travelling on my own. I understand the need to dress conservatively, that won't be an issue. Also, any advice on what/where to fit in my 12 hours?
Thanks!
Hi,
I am a female. I have been offered a job in Bahrain and will be moving out there from London in September for 2 years. My employer will be sorting my visa and accommodation but I need some advice regarding my partner joining me, living arrangements, how to go about his visa and job prospects.
Is it best for him to apply for a 3 month visiting visa? Is there anything more permanent than this available?
What will be required of him in terms of reasoning for why he is visiting? Is it ok for him to say he is coming with me? - we are not married.
Is it best for him to apply for jobs from the UK before hand or to get the 3 month visiting visa and look once there?
Is it ok for us to live together, not being married?
Separate to this topic....what is Bahrain like for a young expat couple? - dress, social plus anything else :)
Thanks in advance!

Hi, I am an Australian Muslim wishing to meet with my husband in Bahrain. We wish to rent an apartment there for approximately 3 months. My husband is working in Saudi and has a multiple entry visa for Bahrain, but it appears that as an Australian passport holder I can only obtain a two week visa? Would appreciate any advise on the best way to approach this and if I can get a 3 month visitors or tourist visa? Many thanks and peace
Hi guys, I intend on visiting Bahrain for a few days at the end of the year for tourism purposes. I am an Australian citizen, young male traveling solo. I also have visited Israel a few times, with stamps in my passport. But my passport is pretty full, so unless they were looked for specifically unlikely to be seen. I am very nervous with regards to be rejected/immigration checks. I have nothing to hide, but just feel uncomfortable with the thought that I may be rejected! Has anyone visited with Israeli stamps? I hear mixed reports. Also has anyone visited in the past 6 months? What is the situation there like now? How stringent are the immigration checks? I've read people have been held up for 2 hours with questioning! Is this true? Thanks!

I will be arriving soon in Bahrain for work at the airport. Its been many years since I've last visited Bahrain so I'm asking for any suggestions where to find an apartment to rent. I'd like a place close to the airport, secure, and within a short distance to the water and/or even a sea view from the apartment. I know this may be asking a lot because I really don't want to spend a fortune on rent but I need some ideas for when I arrive this next month. I'm also eager to see the sights of the island and learn its culture and obviously meet new friends, so any suggestions for these question will be greatly appreciated.
