    • Winterfest

      Salzburg May 16, 2013 at 9:10 AM

I just found some limited information online about Winterfest. We will be in Munich in December and are planning a day trip to Salzburg. One of our travelers is an experienced juggler and might enjoy something like this. Is it an "open" sort of things, where you can wander the tents, or do you only purchase tickets for a specific show and there's only one thing going on at a time? From the English portion of their website it was somewhat difficult to be sure. Any guidance would be appreciated it. Opinions on whether it's worth it for the money are much appreciated as well.

      Sound of Music Tour

      Salzburg Apr 23, 2013 at 5:50 PM

It appears that many people suggest "doing your own thing" and skip the pre-packaged tours on the buses. What about the Hop On, Hop Off bus that visits each SOM site? You can get off and send as much (or as little) time as you wish at each site. The only place not covered is apparently the cathedral in Mondsee.

      Verona to Vienna

by Ldeck3 Online Now Jan 6, 2009 at 9:15 AM

I will be in Verona early July. I have to come home from Vienna. Would this be a good place to make a few nights in Austria? I do not really want to stay in Vienna but have a very early morning flight from Vienna. Is train service close to Bad Gastein? This is our first time without a car altho we could get one in Austria. I am giving my husband a repreive from driving in Italy. One other thing. My husband likes to swim and is staying in town for Verona so we need water in Austria..which shouldn't be too difficult. Anyone have any suggestions for 3-4 days in Austria, leaving Verona to Vienna? Thank you.
