Closest airport to Bad Gastein is Salzburg, about 90 km away.
The only international train that leaves London is the Eurostar which only runs direct ski train services to the French Alps, see eurostar.com/UK/uk/leisure/d....
You can of course take the Eurostar to Brussels and change there for for ski trains to Austria, but only on FRIDAYS, see travelbite.co.uk/news/europe...
However, for Bad Gastein, the best route from Bruxelles-Midi appears to be the 13:09 to Zurich, arr. 21:24, and then the 21:40 Euronight service to Bad Gastein, arr. 05:01 on Saturday.
You can search for yourself on reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/qu...

there are more than enough restaurants in Bad Gastein, because this is one of our most famous holiday resorts. Not bad at all, "Bad" means bath, so there are healing springs as well.
Bad Gastein is the most expensive there, but there are also Dorfgastein and Hofgastein, that are a bit cheaper BUT without healthy springs.
