Hi,
I am planning to backpack in Ethiopia sometime this November with my fiance. Please give me any details that would help me. Expenses. Food. Warnings. Places to visit. How many days would be required to cover several places of interest in Ethiopia. Do I need to take the help of a local travel agency. Last year we backpacked through central and Southern Sri Lanka for 11 days without the help of any travel agency. Is this possible in Ethiopia? Please give me some information on the above and any additional information would be really helpful.

first of all i want to say how great to be able to see in internate a places like axum that are historical.continunig i was wondering why there are no pictures from curent time of period to show a turist how the city really looks like. i belive updateing the picture would improve the interest of vistors for axum and other historicale places.
There is no any written record about the stele field in Axum including the one taken by the invading Italians in 1936. Can any one give the right scholarly answere for that?? Regards, Baez
