I will only be in NJ on business for 2 days...hoping to get to Manhattan one evening. How difficult / expensive will this be? I have looked at the train schedule trying to decide vs. taking a cab. Will I be able to find a cab back to NJ? Lots of questions I know...thanks for any advice!
Avenel is definitely a train ride from NY, not a cab ride. Take NJ Transit (www.njtransit.com). Just make sure you don't miss the last train home in the evening! The service is aimed at commuters, and the trains get very few and far between late at night.
