    • camping nr Vernon and train to Paris

      France May 20, 2013 at 3:10 PM

We want to stay for a few nights at a camp site nr Vernon or Evreux , leave the car at the camp site and travel into Paris on the train and stay overnight. Can anyone recommend a good camp site with easy access to a station. We need to be happy that the car and caravan will be secure if we are leaving them unattended for the night. We have looked at Les Andelys but not sure how easy it would be to get too and from the station without the car. Any advice gratefully received.

Hi all, I was in Nice 2 years ago for the first time and loved it however with the kids they got very bored very quick, I am wanting to go back next year at the end of May and was wondering if there are any local playgrounds or parks for kids to go to ages 3 1/2 and 5. I know of the park in Antibes and will go there but local parks I would like to find. Also is it true that there is always an amusement park in the old town ? Thank you in advance :)

      Making friends in Perros-Guirec

      Perros-Guirec Jun 5, 2013 at 8:57 AM

My wife and I are doing a house exchange in Perros-Guirec from mid-July to mid-August. We're in our 60's, and our son and his wife will be joining us for a couple of weeks in July as well. We would enjoy getting to know some people there, maybe meeting for coffee or dinner (or crepes!) if anyone is interested.

      Thanks.

    • BUS to Blois

      Blois Jun 4, 2013 at 9:28 AM

Hello everyone, I will be arriving at 640am to Charles de Gaulle Airport Paris, and I need to go to Blois.

I find it a little expensive to take a train from CDG T2 to Saint Pierre Des Corps at 4km of Tours, and then another train to Blois - Euro 68, on 7th June.

The other method seems to be to take the RER from CDG to Paris Austerlitz and then a Intercites train down to Blois. However, the train to Blois is at 0738 or at 1238, which 12.38pm will be a little late for me as I want to try to visit both Chambord and Cheverny in a day...and yet 07.38am at Paris Austerlitz is too rush for me since I land at 6.40am.

Does anybody know of a bus from Paris to Blois? Or a slightly cheaper but pretty fast way to Blois from CDG?

      Thank you...

    • Train Station -- can't get through gates

      Rambouillet Jun 16, 2013 at 10:45 AM

We went to Rambouillet on a Sunday. On the return trip, we could not get past the gates between the front door and the platforms. The sign said "access to trains," but it was nothing but barriers. The gates seemed to be activated by small, subway-style tickets, but we had a full size train ticket purchased at our station of origin. There was no one attending the station. We jumped over turnstiles, squoze through gates, crossed tracks, and climbed over a fence before finding a staircase that led to the right track. We could see a staircase after we broke through the gates, but it was fenced off. I can't find a layout of the station or any explanation anywhere else on the internet. Any one know what we did wrong (or what's wrong with the train station)?
