Bonjour! I´m Jaan,48, from Estonia. I was many times in Taizé Communaute. Some months ago I met the new interestig place. Via Podiensis. From Le Puy to Conques. There is an one cheap way to go to France by cheap plane. Tallinn- London- Lyon. From Lyon to Le-Puy by train. When I´m finally in the Conques with some friends, which is the best way to go from Conques to back Lyon? Or London Stansted? We have a very little budget. Thanks! Mercy! Petit Jean(Väike Jaan)
Hi, There is a bus from Conques to Rodez only weekdays at 7h05 mondays and wednesdays and 8h05 tuesdays,thursdays and fridays, nothing at the weekend. Takes 1hour and 15 mins and costs 7euros20. From Rodez airport you can fly with Ryanair directly to Stanstead. Or through Lyon home, whichever is the cheapest for you. Good luck

The Via Podiensis (Way of St James) is one of the pilgrim routes to Santiago de Compostela. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Way_of... Rodez is the nearest railway station to Conques. Trains to Lyon from there take around 8 hours. It would be much better if you flew back to Stansted from a nearer airport. Ryanair fly from Rodez to London Stansted. They also fly to Stansted from Carcassonne, which is much nearer Rodez by train (about 4 hours) than Lyon. www.ryanair.com There are some buses to Rodez from Le Puy Monday to Friday, but I cannot find the timetable. If you must return to Lyon you can find train times and details in English here: bahn.de/international/view/e... I was in Conques at the end of May, and dtill haven't had time to put up all my tips and photos (sigh), but it is really a beautiful town and as you say Pedro, a lovely region.
