Hi, i am a tattoo artist from the uk, i am looking to live and work in australia next year for around six months, i am hoping to travel around australia working in different studios for a few weeks/ month at a time. I would appreciate any imformation anyone could give me regarding what visas i would need and any other relevant imformation, thanks.
I have not been to Australia for a few years but I have this from an EU citizen friend who recently tried to get work there. He is a very skilled technical welder, got the job and is now kvcking his heels for a minimum of eight weeks until the company gets the right stamps. Apparently, the paperwork is extremely hard to get through n Australia now. If you have not already done it, I suggest you start here. uk.embassy.gov.au/lhlh/Visas... If you are in or near London, perhaps a personal visit would be an idea. From memory the visa section is on the Strand. Hope this assists, fergy.

If you are less than 30 there is a working holiday visa. Generally, however, they are restricted to jobs in Agriculture and the Hospitality industry. The best thing would, as pointed out by Fergy, either research the Australian Embassy's website, which provides a wealth of information or contact them directly.

Sorry, the typing gets ahead of the thinking. I mean Fergy suggested to contact the visa dept of the Embassy. I suggest to research their website before... Sorry, must be the heat over here affecting the single working brain cell.

Go to the Aussie immigration page at: http://www.immi.gov.au/ and then click 'find a visa.' All the rules and regs can be accessed on that page and under no circumstances go through a visa agent as it will cost you money you don't need to spend. You may need to contact the department regarding your type of work. Good luck.

Yes, www.immi.gov.au is the site to look at, all the info you need is there. You may not get tattoo studio work but you should be able to find other temp work.
