After having discussed the options for cabins on a cruise yesterday, I have spoken with P & O Cruises and a travel agency today. I would like to book an inside cabin in the middle of the ship. They have offered a great deal on the Empress Deck of the Pacific Sun: pocruises.co.nz/html/dplan_p... However, the cabin would be under the dining room. The nightlife deck including dance floors would be one deck above this and therefore should not be a worry. Has anybody stayed under a dining room and experienced any noise problems? (Were the dining people jumping from joy from their chairs? LOL) Or should I go ahead with the booking or try to change down to Upper Deck?
My advise as Tour Manager on a Cruise Ship - don't go below the dining room or any venue that has guest or pax traffic - also directly above not a good idea. Even after dining times have finished - and on P&O there are a little longer then other ships - you will have traffic above your head all the time - and when there is no traffic there will be cleaning and at times for special dinners moving of tables etc... Change to Upper Deck Midship - the least noisiest cabins on a ship! Fond regards from the Seven Seas!
