I have decided to take a gap year with my sister and I am wondering if anyone has good ideas of where I should go and why. I am a 19 year old girl and love travelling. I want to have travelled the world some day and this is my first big trip. I like major cities, little country towns and everywhere in between. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi Lesliesusanne,
My 19 year old daughter is currently on her gap year. She's been working hard to save the money she'll need to pay for a month long tour of IndoChina with a travel group. I was really pleased she did this because the thought of her travelling alone in Australia, which was her first plan, would have made me very worried. The organised travel group will mean that she has companionship for her journeys and it will enable her to experience a number of things she would not have otherwise been able to do.
You'll find there are a huge number of different opportunities for all kinds of gap years so just by entering 'gap year' into a search engine you'll be overwhelmed with options.
Hope it works out for you,
Mike

Thanks MikeBird, the travel group sound like a great idea! I made a mistake though with the location though, I put in Australia when I was meant to put in Europe, I thought they were asking for my location. If you didn't guess I'm new at this. Thanks for the help anyway :)

will you be wanting to work while you are away to part fund your travel?
you are the right age to get a working visa - but i am not exactly sure which countries offer these in reciprocation for the year working visa australia offers people under 26
i know a few years back Spain joined in
then you would have to work out if you could easily get a job in spain, if you see what i mean
