    • Moving to new area in Atlanta - safe?

      Atlanta 22 hours ago

I'm fairly new to Atlanta, only been here for about 7 months, but haven't really ventured off into unknown territory. I'm looking at a rental home on Irwin Street, just south of Freedom Parkway and east of 75/85 Connector. Would this be a safe area for a single, white female? Any input would be great. Thank you.

    • Living in Albany

      Albany Jun 16, 2013 at 2:41 PM

Debating on whether purchasing a home in the Doublegate area of Albany GA. Is Albany a town that a newcomer would want to live in. I have heard and read so many negative things about Albany and wondered why it receives so much negativity. Is the mall safe place to visit and Shop????

I will be spending a couple of weeks in Athens attending a class at the US Navy facility. I know nothing about Athens, have been in the war zone more often than not over the last couple of years so I'm probably a little short on "acceptable" at times but I am looking at going out in the evenings and having a good meal, cocktails and conversation.... preferably with members of the fairer sex... and maybe aven a night of karaoke. I would love to hear where to get some quality southern food preferably froma "mom and pop" type place. Some place with live weekend music that is fairly relaxed would be a bonus. Thanks in advance
