Suggestions/tips about visiting Luxor/Aswan arriving from Aqaba

I am a frequent visitor to Egypt but as yet have not visited Valley of the Kings or Abu Simbel. I plan to be in Jordan (Aqaba), in May and have been advised there's a ferry that I can take from Aqaba to Egypt and then onto both destination??? I am not interested in an organised tour or a nile cruise a Feluca would be great. Has anybody any ideas as to how I could organise this plus any tips on the goods/bad of travelling on a Feluca.
