Can anyone offer some advice on traveling by car in Egypt from Cairo to Aswan and then by ferry to Wadi Halfa. It seems that it is now difficult to travel in the south. Are convoy organized by police / army ? I plan to travel to Sudan in two-three months if it is possible ! Thanks
Howdy mate for the travel convey check with your car rental agency most people take the train ,easy ride and much cheap(only 55 Egyptian Pounds) as well the ferry to Wadi Halfa is only once a week(time changed people now say every Sat). you ll spend one night in Wadi Halfa and the next morning the train to Khartoum. most people ride to Atbra and then take the bus to Khartoum. make sure you have enough water and food on the train as somtimes the train break down. i have done the trip from South to North as well i ll travel from Sudan to Egypt in May. enjoy your trip Cheers ( - _ - )
