hi, does anyone have experience piloting a felucca down the nile from aswan to cairo? can you solo sail a felucca? what are the difficulties, dangers? how much does a felucca cost?
do you intend buying a felucca? it would be quite a journey from aswan to cairo and feluccas are dependant on the wind which can be a problem at certain times of the year.There are also restrictions in place for travellers from other countries. you may be able to get advice from the egyptian tourist website. when i went to aswan three years ago they all seemed to have their own "captains" . im sure they would accompany you on a journey but im not so sure about you piloting one yourself. good luck, egypt is one of my fav places and you cant beat sailing down the nile.
