I'd like to know if there are buses from Izmir to Assos. If so, how long it takes? And from Assos to Bursa, is it a long journey by bus? Any interesting cities along the way? I was thinking of going to Bergama by bus, from Izmir, but it looks complicated. Thank you for any input. wib
Why is is complicated to go to Bergama from Izmir? Just go to Izmir's bus terminal, take either a shuttle bus or the big Metro Turizm bus and you'll be in Bergama in about 2 and a half hours. Metro is better as it will drop you in the center of Bergama, not the far terminal.

From İzmir to Assos : 290 km It takes maximum 3 hours. I could not find a bus company that goes direct to Assos but there are buses which go to Kucukkuyu far from Assos (25km far). Please check below website http://www.metroturizm.com.tr/ The ticket is 25.00 turkish lira (one way - from İzmir to Kucukkuyu) I suggest you to go to bus terminal in İzmir and find METRO stand. But first ask them if there are any companies that goes to Assos directly. Time schedule from İzmir to Kucukkuyu.
