Hiya Hope someone can help!! I am taking my Man to see the TT in Assen this June and I am unsure of the best travel accomodation? I.e. do we stay in Amsterdam and travel to Assen on the day? How long is the train from Amsterdam to Assen Or should we stay in Assen? Thank you
amsterdam-assen will take about 2 hours by train, see www.ns.nl

The TT or Dutch GP is a three day event. 2 training days and the main championship at the Saturday (June 30). The circuit is open to the public from 5AM on Saturday. So if you take an early train from Amsterdam, some of the best place are gone unless you have fixed seats. I don't know if staying in the neighbourhood is better, because there always is a big traffic jam and special one way entrance routes. Recommend hotels and campings are at: tt-assen.com/cms/HotelsenCam... First train from Amsterdam Central Station at June 30 is leaving at 6.37, arriving at Assen at 8.34 (with a change of trains at Amersfoort). Enjoy the race, PJ

If it is possible, I'd take Marcel's advice. However, if everything is booked, you could come by train from a place a bit nearer to Assen. Zwolle comes to mind or Groningen. Both nice cities.
