    • 4th of July

      Austin Apr 25, 2013 at 5:58 PM

Hello, Austin folks! We are going to be in town over the 4th of July. What's the best bet for fireworks? Also, we'll be staying downtown because our 16-yr-old son is going to a gaming thing at the Convention Center. Do we need a car to see the best that Austin has to offer? We'll be there from the 3rd to the 9th.

Thanks for any info and recommendations!

      Houston Apr 25, 2013 at 9:57 AM

Hi, we are relocating to Houston in the next few months and are looking at areas that have great schools and nice neighborhoods with low crime. Looking heavily at Friendswood or possible Mont Belvieu area. What can you tell me about the towns and schools? Thanks!

    • cheapest airport close to San Francosco

San Antonio May 6, 2013 at 9:46 AM

Planning a flight to San Francisco from San Antonio, possibly in July or August. Can a significant amount of money on airfare be saved by flying into an airport outside of San Francisco & then driving for around (up to) an hour to get to SF?

    • San Antonio/Austin or Surrounding Towns??

      Texas Apr 23, 2013 at 8:21 AM

      Hi,

My sister and I are planning a trip across the States in July and Texas is a must see for us.

We fly into Austin, have 3 days to explore and then fly out of San Antonio. We know we haven't got much time, but were just wondering if anybody had any advice on whether we should focus out trip in only Austin & San Antonio or hire a car for 2 days and explore the little towns in-between?

Also, we are are in Texas for the 4th July, any advice about where best to celebrate this day between the 2 cities or the smaller surrounding towns?

We would really appreciate any help anyone can offer.

    • Safe neighborhood in & around Arlington, Texas

by Benhur101 Online Now Mar 2, 2013 at 12:13 PM

Spotcrime website lists lots of crime in Arlington ranging from theft, assault, burglary, armed robbery etc.. Just on 28th Feb2013 there has been about 30 such crimes. Which place will be good to live? Should I look for rentals outside of Arlington? I am moving to Arlington and I need a safe place to live with my family, good school for kids, good neighborhood, good shops etc. without worrying for crime. Please suggest.

    • Living in Arlington

by sromain Online Now Oct 10, 2004 at 3:04 PM

My Wife was born in Texas, though she left at a very early age. We have both graduated from college, she is a Dental Hygienist and I'm an RN. After living in Michigan for many years, I'm "giving" in to the notion of moving south. Can any residents give me a glimpse of what it is like to live in Arlington? Is it...desert environment? Also, I have two small children. How are the schools? I'll miss the great seer hunting in the north, but I do hear you have some deer here and there in Texas! ;) Thanks for your input in advance.

I planned a trip for the end of this month and all I saw was 5 bad reviews on this hotel from two different websites (yahoo and expedia) from other travelers. I'm hoping someone in Arlington can give me some better reviews on this place. We are going to Six Flags, this hotel has a trolley service that will take us to the park.
