My wife & I are staying in the area June 23-26. Are there scheduled bullfights at the arena? If so, is it necessary to buy tickets in advance? thank you, RL

There are no bullfights in Arles in June - only Easter and second weekend in September. The other major centre, Nimes also has 2 at the end of May and half way through September. Tickets in advance are only essential if you want to sit in the shade. Many smaller bullfights exist in other places. These are only advertised locally and it is seldom necessary to book in advance and the rings are not big enough to offer much shade anyway!
