on day free in ElCalafate you should do the Lake Argentino tour by boat among icebergs, visiting Bahía Onelli and Upsala/Spegazzini glaciers, you can get there only by boat. Parque Nacional Los Glaciares was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

get plan B for Dec 17 as Mt. Fitz Roy is not sure to be climbed at any day someone likes. Around Bariloche there's much more to see than the beatiful but very tourist Isla Victoria and Bosque. There are a lot of circuit excursions locally, i would do the seven lakes or to Puerto Mont / Puerto Varas instead. Two days excursion [each way] using more boats and buses, only one ticket.

Your itinerary is good however, I would suggest re-evaluating your mode of travel on Dec.9 and 10. The bus from Ushuaia to Punta Arenas is 10-12 hours! Then on the 10 the bus to Puerto Natales in 3-4 hours. Not as bad but we opted to fly (it was in reverse) and was only162 usd. You save two full days and worth the extra money IMHO. Have a great trip!

Sorry forgot to say we took a bus from Puerto Natales to El Calafate then flew to Ushuaia. We just wanted to avoid Punta Arenas and the 12 hour bus ride.

I would say your itinerary looks great. You are doing a LOT of travelling. Perhaps a bit too much time on the bus in my opinion. Agree that from Calafate you will want to take the tour out to lago argentino and the glaciers...very scenic. a bit of a long day but well worth it. noting not much time in Buenos Aires?
