Hi, everyone!
We will spend a couple of days in Milan in laste June and then will head east to Verona and Padova, but intended to spend a few hours in Sirmione. I could rent a car or take the train (consider that we will have our backpacks with us at this time since we will be moving to a different city), but I am concerned with two possible problems associated with each option - lack of parking space or lack of lockers at the train station. Any suggestions or ideas?
We are arriving at Milan airport and would like to hire a car and driver to Vareena, Lake Como. Has anyone had any experience with any companys? Thanks so much for any ideas and suggestions. We will be arriving at 14:00 on a Monday. Two of us with small amount of luggage.
Is it easier and quicker to reach Bellagio via train to Como and bus to Bellagio, how often and how late do the buses run? Or go to Milano Centrale change for Varenna and then the ferry. Arriving at 6 o'clock on a Friday evening and going by the timetables we wont be reaching Bellagio till about 10 o'clock.
I have been told to get the train form Milan to Como San Giovanni Station if I need to get to Varenna.
My problem is that I need to get to Varenna on a Sunday.
Do trains travel to Como San Giovanni Station on Sundays, is this the best route and if trains do not run then how do I get to Varenna on a Sunday from Milan.
Any help would be very much appreciated
how far is hotel olivedo from ravenna rail station?
Hello travel gurus,
I will be in Italy May 22-June 25. I want to use the train some of the time. Taking into account that it will be busy and some of my destinations are popular...Is it worth my time and money I purchase Eurorail (which is First Class)from the states or purschase 2nd class when in Italy. My girlfriend and I are in our 30's-40's and have no physical limitations.
Thank very much.
Hello world travelers,
I just found this fantastically inspiring site by seeing one Auroea/Jelena beautiful photographs and this is my first post. I regret that this is my first trip to Italy in 19yrs and my girl has never been. we are leaving from Los Angeles to Milano May22 and leaving from Rome June 25 and I want Lago di Como to be our first stop for 3 nights. With so many rooms being booked at this time of year I am have difficulty deciding on a b&b or small hotel or near a town that has great views, isn't very busy, has an authentic feel and good food. My budget for a room is flexible up to about $I20 a night. I am thinking I may rent a car since I would like to visit many towns. Any recommendations?
I sincerely appreciate. Claudio Marangone
Wondered if anyone could help with my travel dilemma. Coming to Milan for a week in September and wondered where to base for sightseeing, easy transport links and restaurants. Fancied Bellagio but it may pose problems getting back for an early morning flight. Any suggestions? Any views on Lecco?
any ideas whether there is a car rental service in Argegno itself? If not, where is the nearest one - it doesn't have to be one of the well-known firms...thanks
Hilary
