Hi Everybody, we are planning a trip to Peru in June. Could anyone recommend a tour company or tour guide in Arequipa? We are looking for a three to four day trekking-tour to Colca Canyon and surrounding area. We are interested in a tour off the beaten tourist path. Thanks for answering! Kata
Once you get to Arequipa there are tons of tour companies advertising 3/4 day tours of Colca Canyon. Most of them are located in or around Plaza de Armas and all are around the same price. I would wait until you get there. One thing to keep in mind is in July it is their winter and you will be going into very high elevations (10,000 ft+). So remember to bring warm clothes (hats, gloves and jackets). I made that mistake at the beginning of July and I froze my butt off!
