My son and his wife are currently living in Redding. They will be moving to Chico in about a month. We all love the outdoors and we love adventures so I thought I would buy a gift certificate for an adventure in the chico area. Maybe one of you has an idea. My budget is around $200.00. If someone know of a tree house rental I would love to hear about that. Thanks - Sue
My husband says "let's go to the Grand Canyon" for our 20th anniversary. Well in doing all my research, I learn the location (and existence!) of Sequoia and now I just can't imagine being so close and not seeing the trees...
We fly into Vegas April 10th, arriving at 11:40am. We are to return home April 18th, leaving at 10:55pm. These are the only plans I have set so far. Got airfare from Maryland for $300 a piece.
I've tried to map loops to keep us going in one direction without backtracking and was hoping I could figure 8 these in...
I've even thought about flying into someplace in California and starting there...
My initial plans were touring completely just east of Vegas, but after discovering Sequoia...
Most years we vacation in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee, so this area seems more like us than the things east of Vegas, but I also know I need to see these places during my life!
Can they be done in 9 days without my entire family (two kids, 11 & 12 and DH) hating me from all the time on the road?
Thank you so much for your time! I look forward to the replies!
We're flying United from SLC to LAX on 1/29 arriving at 7:05 am @ Terminal 8. Our Hawaiian Airlines flight is at 8:40 am from Terminal 2. I know we'll have to exit the airport and go back through security — and they won't transfer our bags, so we'll have to do that ourselves.
Originally we had almost 2.5 hours between flights, but both airlines have changed their times. I'm a little stressed and United won't let us switch our flight to the day before.
Someone had suggested exiting baggage claim at Terminal 7/8, getting a cab to Terminal 2. Then using the Skycap services — or Hawaiian Airlines web check-in bag drop — to expedite that process.
Does anyone have a sense of whether this is possible?
Three mates and I have managed to break free from our wives in July 2014 to do the route 66 tour. At the completion of the tour we have decided to stay in Los Angeles for 4 days before flying home to Australia. Can anyone help with best location for accommodation (not too expensive) and places we should priorities to visit, regards Lance (By the way our age group is an active 65 to 70)
what to wear in december at a convention in san jose
Michigan State just clinched a spot in the Rose Bowl last night! So I'm looking into how to get to Pasadena for the game. The thing is, we are driving back from Michigan to Maine the weekend of the 28th-29th, so it's entirely feasible that I could get dropped off to fly out of any airport along the way. Any of these airports would be possible to fly from: Toledo, Cleveland, Erie, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Worcester, Boston, Portsmouth, or Portland.
I've also heard there are a lot of other airports besides LAX to fly into (ONT, SNA, LGB, BUR, etc.)
So, trying to look into all possible combinations to find the cheapest flight seems pretty daunting. Anyone have some advice on which two airports might have the cheapest fare between them? Boston to LAX seems a likely candidate, but how about any others?
Hi all, my family of 6 will be taking two cabs to the Golden Gate Bridge from Lombard Street and from there, we will walk onto the bridge itself.
As we are travelling with young children, I would like to ensure that we meet at the best place possible.
Could you kindly advise on what is the best meeting point for our 2 cabs and what address do we tell the drivers?
May I also know where can I buy phone SIM Cards?
Thank you so much.
I will be bicycling the Oregon coast through the Redwood forest in early Sept. and I have searched VT for guides on this activity but the results seem to be focus on driving or visiting.
If anyone else will be touring the coast via bicycle, let me know.
I have found plenty of information via the web but would welcome feedback on the following:
1) General comments and recommendation for the tour (I will be camping).
2) Any "must dos" or "must stops"?
3) Best places to eat breakfast, lunch, dinner
4) Best camp sites
5) Best places for a beer
6) Any information on the airport in Arcata, CA, and getting there...flying with a bike at that airport...closest campground or hotels in the area...
7) What and where to avoid
8) Any issues on biking to the airport.
Thanks for the help.
I'll consider suggestions about campgrounds as well as cheap motels.
I'll be in Arcata on the 12th of September and I would love to go check out the 'music scene' in your town.
Regarding the music: what are the best spots for non mainstream bands? any link to your local paper with the listings of gigs?
Regarding where to spend the night:I imagine we'll be going to sleep really late, so a humble place is just fine for us. ...but safe, and clean would be great!
Any tip of any nature for a 24-hrs-in-Arcata situation would be appreciated. even just where to go take a good walk and enjoy your community...or nature
...yes, we're 2 musician on a tight budget ;)
thank you so much!
I am interested in moving to Arcata in October of this year (2004). I am a woman and may be moving alone or with a male friend. Any information about what it is like to live there would be very much appreciated. THANK YOU!
I am planning a move to either Eureka or Arcata could someone give me an idea of jobs and housing rentals available and I also have a 12 yr old son. Are there lots of kids there? It looks beautiful and very inline with my philosophy of life.
