H! I hope you are all well! I will be in Biarritz for a weekend at the end of August (Friday the 23rd & Saturday the 24th)
I will be travelling with a friend of mine. We are looking for 2 single rooms in a hotel or apartment as near to the beach as possible.
I have looked up accomodation and found places booked out or very expensive...
Can you recommend anywhere?
We will have a rental car, so can travel to stay in a nice place!
I appreciate your advice!
is there a public bus service between Toulouse and Bordeaux?
how much money would it be for a cab travelling from bordeaux airport to saint emilion france
My husband and I are staying in Bordeaux for 3 days. As we have limited budget, are considering to use the tourist office package.
Has anyone tried this? It would be nice if you let me know what their chateau visiting is like. If the visiting tour is not good enough, we will arrange accommodation and separately.

How to get to Perigueux from Paris?
L.S. As i am traveling home from Spain with a friend. We would like to visit the city of Bordeaux but we do not want to drive into Bordeaux. Just outside Bordeaux with private parking and a good connection to Bordeaux center. either with a train or a bus. about 30 minutes. I looked at Libourne. There is one public car park but will that be save. Please advise. Thank you Louise
Bordeaux tourist office has a half day tour to st emilion for eur82 per pax. Should I go with that or make my own way there and book our own vineyards instead? 2 of us paying eur164 for half day tour sounds quite steep (not sure if it comes with a guide or just transport to the vineyards)..
1st time there.. where should we spend the nights - in Bordeaux or the neighbouring chateaus? It seems like there may not be much to do in Bordeaux, so maybe 1 night there and 2 nights in the chateau? Any recommended stay/experience or suggestions? We are not planning to drive there, so I guess that may make "chateau-hopping" difficult? Or is basing in Bordeaux and joining day-trips our only option?
My teen son and I, will be spending just 1 day in Biarritz and I was wondering about Christmas Day ... We were in Monaco on Christmas day last year and it was beautiful and going...the little stores were open and we had a blast... Can someone tell me if the city is alive on Christmas day or should we go some other day? Thanks
We are staying in Amboise and then need to get to our next stay at Clos de la Barbanne 2,les Grandes Pieces, 33570 Montagne. We will be taking the train from Amboise.Should we depart at Bordeaux or at Libourne and how can we best then get to our next stop over at Clos de la Barbanne. We do not intend to rent a car that we will drive. We are interested in taxi, train, (not really a bus) or private driver. Thank you
Hi there, I'm arriving in San Sebastian next week and will take a day trip to Biarritz. What is the best way to get there? I'll be traveling on Monday, so would I be better off taking PESA bus directly to Biarritz in the morning or the Eusko train to Hendaye and change it to French train from there? Your feedback will be much appreciated
Hello everybody, I am ashamed of asking such a silly question, but: were you to choose between visiting Bordeaux and visiting Toulouse, which city would you prefer? Which city you think is more beautiful, or more interesting, or more fun, or more pleasant to walk through? Thanks!
Hello there, I wonder if anyone can help. I am arriving in Biarritz in a few weeks time and will be travelling on to Tarbes. I will be getting the train there - but I was wondering if anyone has got this train before and what will the sign on the front of the train say? By the looks of the train network map - the high speed train finishes at Tarbes - but the line carries on further past Tarbes. I will be travelling with my 6 year old son and I am a little worried as my french is very minimal, so I am trying to make life a little easier for me by knowing what to look for! Also, does anyone know if it is best to pay for my train ticket on the internet before I go - or is it cheaper to pay on the day? I think I will be getting a taxi from the airport to the train station (any ideas how much I would expect to pay?) Kind regards and many thanks in advance, Bev n Wills x

Hello, bonjour Je désire aller voir une pièce de théâtre entre le 25 juin et le 29juin. I would like to buy tickets for a play between June 25th and 29th. How about Les Salinières? I understand it is summer theater there right now... Although I like comedies, I don't like absurd comedies...
Hello VT friends, I know you are going to know the answer to this... What is the area to the west of Bordeaux like? Its called the Parc Naturel Regional de Gascone. Its marked green on my map which means woodland but what is it like? Worth a detour? What are the beaches/coast like and the towns/villages around the bassin d'arcochon? I'm booked for Dordogne, St Emilion and Bordeaux and wondering now whether to head north along the coast or detour to have a look around here. Thankyou in advance lovely VT-ists
Hi all, 3 weeks in Bordeaux area coming up but not booked anything yet. Please could someone give me some advice on the nicest/most interesting villages to stay, les plus beaux villages de France, in Bordeaux area? Within, say, half an hour to one hour of the city. And the must-see attractions. Thankyou.
We are wanting to travel by car from Paris to Le Bugue in September. We have 10 days to get to our Rental accomodation there. Can someone suggest a scenic route, avoiding Motorways, etc. And perhaps places to stay en route?
Hi, I have the amazing opportunity to spend 10 days in France. I travel for my work, so this is basically a work trip with 10 days off in between. I love to surf, so naturally I decided on going to the south west corner of France to visit. Does anyone have any suggestions on sites to see, or places to visit? Or on any fun hostel to stay at where I might meet likeminded travelers out to have a good time? I am young, and dont mind hostels or a good time. I was planning on checking out the Biarritz and Hossegeur area (incorrect spelling I know). As well as heading down to San Sebastion. Would you reccomend spending more time in Biarritz or in Hossegur? Also would like to go to Paris, and maybe even up to Bordeux for their annual wine festival. I will be In France from June24th- july 3rd. Do I need to rent a car, or will it be sufficient enough to use public transportation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have very little knowledge on the area as is. thanks, Max Read more: VT Forum temporarily unavailable
is there any camp sites in or around this beautiful place
I will be in Bordeaux from March 23 to March 30. I love museums, churches, flea markets and thrift shops. Any suggestions? I will not have a car. Any suggestions for a day trip on public transportation? By the way, I am retired, travelling alone and speak French.
I will be in Bordeaux march 25th through April 6th. I want to visit a few places outside Bordeaux for a few days each. I will be travelling alone. I have heard the pyrenees, biarritz, and dordogne are nice. Any suggestions would be helpful. Tim from Chicago
Hi We (myself, my partner and 4 year old daughter) will be in Bergerac for 4 days in July. We will be car less and would like to take a trip or two outside of Bergerac by train and see the best of the region. My four year old gets very bored on trains for more than one and half hours. Can anyone suggest one to two great places to visit? Thank you!
Hello, I am moving to a home located in the hamlets of Alos-Sibas-Abense (near Tardets) in early March. I will be in the midst of a whirlwind journey by my move-in date, as I will be flying from NYC to Paris and then immediately taking a train from Paris to Biarritz. I then need to find a way from Biarritz to Tardets. My landlord tells me with certainty that there is a bus from Biarritz to Tardets (although she herself has never used it). I cannot find any information about this on the internet. I am sure that I will be able to confirm all transportation information once in Biarritz, but seeing as I will be weary from so much traveling (with heavy baggage) by the time I arrive there, I would like to knock out as many "unknowns" as possible prior to travel. Any information on travel from Biarritz to this (Tardets Sorholus OR Alos-Sibas-Abense) will be helpful. Thank you, Andrew
I'm organising a group vineyard visit to Bordeaux(June) by coach from the uk and on one day,(a weekday) the driver will need a rest day. As we may be staying at Pian Medoc, which is on a bus route to Bordeaux, some members of the group may wish to visit Bordeaux, and some might like to travel on to the coast by train or bus. Is this possible, and at what time will the trains and buses stop running?
How long will it take to drive from Paris to Biarritz on a Saturday in August, my Tomtom say around 8 Hours! But I fear it may be longer with stops and Traffic thanks for you reply in advance Mark
Hello, I am planning my trip to the lovely city and I will arrive on 3/25/12 which is a Sunday, to stay in a sweet little apartment just east of Place Gambetta. I am looking for a supermarche that is open on Sunday (Dimanche), which may be too much to ask but i would like to stock up on food in the afternoon, and get to relax and make dinner at the apartment, and a petit dejeuner the next morning. Is the Monoprix or Carrefours open even a little on Sundays? Any other ideas? Thanks so much in advance!!!
Hi! I've recently moved to an area north of Bordeaux and am surrounded by fields. I would like to go shopping for clothes in Bordeaux but although I have looked on the internet, I couldn't find any big department stores (you know the type, with clothes on one floor, furniture, etc. on another). Would anyone be able to give me the names of some places? I'm not looking for expensive boutiques... I would be most appreciative. Many thanks, Mira
