    • Things for Kids to do in Nice

      Nice Yesterday

Hi all, I was in Nice 2 years ago for the first time and loved it however with the kids they got very bored very quick, I am wanting to go back next year at the end of May and was wondering if there are any local playgrounds or parks for kids to go to ages 3 1/2 and 5. I know of the park in Antibes and will go there but local parks I would like to find. Also is it true that there is always an amusement park in the old town ? Thank you in advance :)

Biking from Villefranche sur Mer to Monaco via Cap Ferat

      Villefranche-sur-Mer Jun 11, 2013 at 10:50 AM

My family and I will be arriving by cruise ship in Villefranche sur Mer at 9 am and departing at 9 pm. We would like to rent bikes and ride to Monaco via Cap Ferat and return to Villefranche sur Mer. How long will that take us to bike? Are there any cafes or sights along the way that should not be missed?

      Grasse Jun 11, 2013 at 7:47 AM

Hi, I will be attending a summer course at Prodarom in Grasse this summer. My question is regarding accommodation - suggestions for nice hotels or possibly apartment rental and whether it is better to stay close to the GIP or in the centre and go by bus or foot? I have not been to Grasse so am unfamiliar with the distances between places. I will not have a car but like to walk :) Any advise is much appreciated! Best regards, Sylvia

Where is the bus stop in Arles for the SNCF bus to the Avignon TGV station?

      Arles Jun 2, 2013 at 1:03 PM

We were planning to take a train from Arles to Avignon and then the navette to the Avignon TGV station, but I noticed in Rick Steves that there is a direct SNCF bus to the Avignon TGV station. We would take that on the way back to Aix-en-Provence, so I think it would save a little time. I looked and saw that there is a bus station in Arles, as well as the train station, but then it dawned on me that Rick Steves didn't say where to catch the SNCF bus. Anyone know?

I am staying in a campsite in Biot in September. There is a small shop on site but I recall it was rather expensive. Does anyone know of a larger one in Antibes and if so can it be reached by bus. Also is the Picasso Museum open, I had read it was closed. When I last visited about 5 years ago it was also closed and I was really looking forward to visiting it this time. Many thanks

    • How big/small is Antibes?

by Makaveli2007 Online Now Jun 9, 2008 at 7:59 PM

I know it has 70,000 or so inhabitants:-). I live in a town of 100,000 which I think is of decent size..of course not a big city with lots of stuff to do, but it's far from a small village. When I see pictures or videos of Antibes, it seems to be that Antibes (despite having a similar number of inhabitants) is the size of a small village, though. But on the other hand, it might be bigger than it looks (and of a decent size, too like 70,000 makes me think), because everybody just films the beach and the old-town?

    • Antibes - is it a good central location to visit other places????

by mcgeever71 Online Now Feb 8, 2008 at 11:36 PM

Hi all, I am planning to visit Antibes for 1 week in mid march with my partner, and our 4 month old baby, as it seems to be not as busy as places like Nice, Cannes, etc. Obivously we'd like to visit those places on the odd day here and there, but as we have the little one in tow now, we'd like to be able to "retreat" to somewhere abit quieter. Or if anyone can suggest, another location, abit quieter, but central to all these places? any info would be extremely appreciated! (ps. we will have a car rental for the week) thanks all. Lee.

      Bikes in Antibes area

by AKpenguini Online Now Jan 11, 2007 at 4:23 PM

We'll be in the area for a week in late spring and would prefer not to rent a car. We'll be staying at Les Jardins d'Ulysee (near Thalazur) which seems to be a bit remote by some standards. How practical would it be to rent bikes to get around town? What about using bikes to visit neighboring places (Cagnes especially)? My partner is in good physical shape (he's a runner) and I am willing but not particularly athletic. Any recommendations?
