    • New Years Day

      Nice Dec 25, 2014 at 4:39 PM

My wife and and I arrive in Nice the afternoon of Dec. 31. Obviously finding a restaurant shouldn't be a problem. But what about New Years day? Is everything shut tight or are some restaurants open?
      Thank you,

    • Retina specialist

      Nice Dec 10, 2014 at 8:40 AM

My wife and I are heading back to Nice for three months. Unfortunately, we were delayed due to a torn retina which required me to have laser retina surgery. My doctor said I have weak retinas since this is the second time it happened. In case this happens again I would like to contact a retina specialist during my stay.

Does anyone know of a retina specialist, not necessarily a personal recommendation but a facility that performs this kind of surgery, in Nice or environs? I have searched Google, spoken to one facility in Nice, Nice Retina at 2 Rue Eugene Emmanuel,  without success. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thank you,

      Ephraim

We will be visiting Aix en Provence from the 15-19th of December. Do you think that 4 full days in Aix are too much?

If yes, can you kindly suggest any place nearby which is worth visiting. Please note that we will be using public transport only.

      Thanks in advance

    • Train from Nice to Saint-Remy-de-Provence, Arles, Nimes

      Nice Dec 18, 2014 at 9:37 AM

We are staying in Nice for several months and would like to take a side trip for several days to see Saint- Remy-de- Provence, Arles and Nimes. From what I can tell those three towns are in fairly close proximity to one another. Does someone know if train travel is convenient for anyone of those three town and from there we can perhaps take local transportation to the other two. We do not want to rent a car which would probably be the easiest solution but it is not available to us.
      Thanks for any help.

I am staying in a campsite in Biot in September. There is a small shop on site but I recall it was rather expensive. Does anyone know of a larger one in Antibes and if so can it be reached by bus.

Also is the Picasso Museum open, I had read it was closed. When I last visited about 5 years ago it was also closed and I was really looking forward to visiting it this time.
      Many thanks

Hi, My family will be in antibes for about two weeks in July. I am looking for a youth soccer club where my son, born 1997, might be able to work out/train. He plays club soccer in Los Angeles at a high level and understands some french.

Not sure if the club soccer scene in los angeles is replicated in Antibes, but it would be a good experience for our son. Any tips? thank you.

      Language Schools

by rickyfreeman88 Online Now Sep 24, 2010 at 5:19 AM

      Hello
I'm an aupair in Antibes for 1 year and need to find a language school. I don't want one of the 1-2-1 schools as they are very expensive, I was hoping for one that was only on a wednesday as that is my day off. My host family had an aupair last year who went to a school ran by old teachers but it has changed location or something, it's very hard to find infomation on the internet.

      Thank you

I have some dilema choosing between to two.
is those places overlap in their experience?
i especially want to entertain my 1.y years old boy,
i afraid Marineland will be to big and overwhelmingfor him...
and on the other hand, i really would like to be in both places, but don't want to get bored if it is the same in some manners.

      what do you think?

My boyfriend and I are traveling to the French Riviera for a couple of days in beginning of august - i know it's the middle of tourist season :(. But despite that where is a nice place to go that will be somewhat mellow and not as pretentious as Cannes? We are looking to enjoy sights and beaches for a moderate price if possible. Thanks :)

    • How big/small is Antibes?

by Makaveli2007 Online Now Jun 9, 2008 at 7:59 PM

I know it has 70,000 or so inhabitants:-).

I live in a town of 100,000 which I think is of decent size..of course not a big city with lots of stuff to do, but it's far from a small village.

When I see pictures or videos of Antibes, it seems to be that Antibes (despite having a similar number of inhabitants) is the size of a small village, though.

But on the other hand, it might be bigger than it looks (and of a decent size, too like 70,000 makes me think), because everybody just films the beach and the old-town?

    • Antibes - is it a good central location to visit other places????

by mcgeever71 Online Now Feb 8, 2008 at 11:36 PM

      Hi all,

I am planning to visit Antibes for 1 week in mid march with my partner, and our 4 month old baby, as it seems to be not as busy as places like Nice, Cannes, etc. Obivously we'd like to visit those places on the odd day here and there, but as we have the little one in tow now, we'd like to be able to "retreat" to somewhere abit quieter. Or if anyone can suggest, another location, abit quieter, but central to all these places? any info would be extremely appreciated! (ps. we will have a car rental for the week)

      thanks all.

      Lee.

hi We have a weeks accomodation in Antibes on the French Riviera and would like to do a trip to Paris. Of course we dont want to waste too much money on extra accom as it is already paid for in Antibes. The exchange rate of Euros/ZAR is a bit restrictive. Thought maybe night train and one night acc in Paris. Any suggestions please. We are travelling with our sons aged 22,20 and 15.

      Bikes in Antibes area

by AKpenguini Online Now Jan 11, 2007 at 4:23 PM

We'll be in the area for a week in late spring and would prefer not to rent a car. We'll be staying at Les Jardins d'Ulysee (near Thalazur) which seems to be a bit remote by some standards. How practical would it be to rent bikes to get around town? What about using bikes to visit neighboring places (Cagnes especially)? My partner is in good physical shape (he's a runner) and I am willing but not particularly athletic. Any recommendations?

Does any one have any suggetsions about transtport to/from this area?

Also - do I need to pre-book accomodation here, or is it okay to wing it? (I'll be there from 10th OCtober 06)

      Thanks so much,

We are considering buying an appt in Antibes. Would prefer something in centre rather on a complex. This means we won't have access to a swimming pool.
I'm wondering if any of the hotels with pools have leisure clubs which non hotel residents can join.
Any info including rates gratefully received Thank you
