Hi, I am traveling to oz in 2 week and was wondering if anyone knows if it it possible to do an antartica trip from Oz? Thanks
My information from several years ago was that Christchurch, New Zealand, and Argentina were the jump off point for air travel to the Antarctic. Most go by ship, here is a url for a line out of Australia: http://www.polarcruises.com/antarctica/

There are cruises from Oz, but the one that I've seen leaves from Oz and ends in NZ. Also, those trips tend to be much longer (in excess of 20 days) simply because the distance to Antarctica from Oz is much greater than Argentina/Chile to Antarctica. So be prepared for a hefty price tag on the cruise.

As other posters have advised, it is possible to head to Antarctica from Australia and New Zealand. I've just checked though, and unless you're here by next Monday it seems you've missed this season's ships. The trip is longer, but takes you to deep Antarctica, below the Antarctic Circle. More specifically, you can reach areas such as the Ross Sea, McMurdo Sound, East Antarctica and rarely visited sub-Antarctic islands, such as Macquarie Island or Auckland Island. There is a comprehensive listing of Antarctic ships and trips on this webpage: expeditiontrips.com/search/a...
