Planning a trip to Barcelona in April. We are then renting a car and driving North towards France, stopping a few places. I'm interested in detouring to Andorra in search of a stamp from a non-schengen country. I'm an American living abroad and my 90 days are about up...it is a reasonable goal?

Hello I'm going to Andorra this winter (2012 -13) to ski !! My goal is to practice a lot for the ski instructor course... I am having a real trabble to find an apartment in Pas de la casa for three months. I looking for something cheap like workers apatment... Or maybe there is an option to share with someone? Many thanks for the 4 replies to the question I posted which is repeated above however, I need to be more explicit. The route that I am querying is driving north east from Llavorsi on the L504 towards Terveu where the road becomes the L510 and then through Alins where you leave the L510 and head for Noris, Tor, Pal, Ercs and finally northwards towards Arinsal. From what I can gather the section from Tor to Pal is described as a 'dirt road' (depicted as a broken black line on my France 2012 AA big easy read map) and if this is the case then does anyone know just how bad it is? are there precipitous drops from a narrow crumbling rock strewn road without passing places? Is the road only suitable for 4x4's or is it frequently used by school buses and family cars for example. Is it safer to continue south from Llavorsi to Sort,take the N260 and N1 to Andorra Vella and then on to Arinsal? Thanks in advance

Can some one please advise if I am likely to encounter any difficulties regarding border posts/road surfaces etc when driving from Llavorsi to Arinsal via Alins and Pal on the C13 in the middle of September. I shall be driving an ordinary family type vehicle as compared to a 4x4. Assuming there's a border post on the C13 are there specific access times?

I am travelling alone and need to get to Marseille by Monday 23rd 20.00 to catch a ferry to Corsica using public transport or Hitch hiking. I have recently graduated from university and I am 22 years old. I want to work a ski season in andorra and wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction as to what to do. I have extensive hospitality and bar staff experience and I am an avid skier.

What do you think about visiting Andorra about 1DEC (not for skiing - little kinds)? Is it croudy? What about reasonable accommodation? We are thinking about 3-4 days of slow leisure but I am not sure if this is the right place. Rgrds

Hi After spending the New Year in Barcelona with my family, I am planning to spend 4 days in the Pyrenees between Jan 1 and Jan 5 2010. Since none of us have ever been skiing (in fact we have never had a holiday in the snow at all), our idea is to have a gentle introduction to skiing over these four days, but also use the time to just have fun in the snow - activities like tobogganing, mushing, snowmobiles etc. Just stuff a family can enjoy together. Also maybe use the place we choose as a base to visit other interesting/scenic places. My questions are: 1. Is Andorra the right choice? 2. If not, where would be recommended? 3. Is Andorra a good destination for Barcelona visitors or there are better ones around it. I see it is in a close distance so I hope the distance can be covered in one hour. I noticed that I can hire a guide for 30eu who will give me a 1/2 day introduction to Via Ferrata in Andorra. I'm not sure if that includes the cost of renting the Via Ferrata equipment/kit.. probably not. I will be in Andorra June 30 & July 1st. My wife and I are going to be spending a day or two in Andorra at the end of June. We'd like to go on a couple walks/hikes and other than that, not too sure what there is to do in the summer months. Just take in the little country. I've noticed there's actually 7 regions and 14 towns in Andorra with over 150 hotels. I have no idea where to start looking. Any ideas or favorite hotels or regions in Andorra? We're hoping to spend 30 or 40Eu per person per night. We'd also love to take in the country itself and would like any recommendations on where to go or what to not miss to help get a feel for this tiny nation. Thanks!!
