Hello, We are a group of 4 persons travelling to south and east Spain in the last week of June and we are looking for country houses. We plan to spend around 9 days and we will rent a car. We will land in Madrid and after travelling south to Cordoba, Seville, Malaga, Granada etc, we will travel east and depart from Valencia. Generally, we will be avoiding the hustle and bustle of cities and would only be including day trips to the cities. Rather than staying in hotels, we would prefer to stay in country houses and then drive to places we want to visit. I would appreciate your views regarding ideal locations where we should book accommodation, if we want to visit southern and east Valencia. During our 9 day trip, we will want to stay in not more than 3 different houses. Many thanks for reading this and I would be thankful for any comments you may have. Ken
Sounds like a great trip! Please could you clarify a bit - are you looking for one or two night stops on a bed and breakfast basis in small rural hotels or B&Bs whilst touring or will you want a self catering house as a base?

if you use a base then a house is ok , otherwise do not think you will find houses for rent for short rentals including travel of 9 days. Most but not all of the places renting homes in Andalucia want at least a week minimum rental period. From there standpoint it makes sense given the time involved with paper work and cleaning up after the rental. I stayed in the area during April and early May of this year and four of the nights involved rural country homes. One place that is a hotel but may meet the needs of your group is; Hotel Rural Molino del Puente Ronda Its a small hotel in a farming area about 7 km from beautiful Rondo, Spain. We had a large 2 bedroom unit that rented for 85 euros a night and included a very large country breakfast each morning. You can view it directly on-line. If you are interested in this property I can forward you a link. While some might disagree I didn't find the Valencia area particularly charming compared to other areas of Spain. To clarify slightly, we are looking at a country house close to Seville for 2 nights and another further East close to Malaga for three nights. I think itcould be difficult to get 2/3 houses where I assume you will look after yourselves for short lettings. I have found this establishment from Alistair Sawday's Special Places to Stay in Spain which seems to do B&B - and to also have apartments which they will let for as little as one or two nights. BUT the location may be too far from Seville. It is in a small town called Constantina and about 60 miles from Seville. here is the Link -http://www.lospozosdelanieve.com/ You might like to browse the Sawday site but I recommend you have a good large scale of Andalucia to hand to do so! sawdays.co.uk/accommodation/... We have stayed in a couple of Sawdays places as have other family members - always satisfactory. I think a link for rural tourist accommodation was given above - that is ceratinly worth trying too.
