i grew up in southeast DC in the 1960's and would love to come back and visit my old neighborhood near Branch Ave. SE. Is it safe for a white female to visit this area?

I lived in SE DC for over a year, back in the mid 90's, I am a white woman, and I never had a problem. Lived in Anacostia, not far from Branch Ave. Your best bet is to visit during the day. It's a neighborhood of some of the most beautiful houses I've seen in DC. Yes, there's crime, but there's crime all over DC. There's been a lot of positive changes in that area in the last decade.
