We like to walk! We are staying at the Golden Tulip Hotel and would like advice on which is the most interesting and pleasant (picturesque)/safest route to take if we want to walk into the heart of the city. Also, if anyone know if there is a bus stop nearby with buses that can take us to/from the city centre to the hotel. Thank you. Sam.

Hello fellow travellers,
I'm traveling to Amsterdam by car at the end of this month and I was wondering if you can help me out to find parking. I need long-term parking so I can leave my car for 4 days and then travel around by public transport. It would be even better if I can take out my car once in a while.
Please suggest parking that is secure and easily accessible, not necessarily in the city center (I assume thats expensive).
I would appreciate any help. Thank you!
We are four people going to Amsterdam for two days. We are planning to visit Anne franks house , kuekenhof gardens, two hour city bus tour, rjiksmuseum , Van Gogh museum , vondlepark and go to dam square .
We read that the pass does not involve ride to scipol airport . So should we buy holland pass or travel on our own ?
Does it prove to be cheaper ?
Also , can we buy the holland pass in Amsterdam itself or is it necessary to buy it online ?
I wish to go from Amsterdan to Lauwersoog
I have been told to get a train to Groningen or Leeuwarden
and then a bus.
Which would be better ? Groningen or Leeuwarden
From which train station in Amsterdam do these trains go from ??

I am doing a round trip in Europe TPE-AMD-WAW-MSK-BEG-AMD-BRU-AMD-TPE, while first stop at AMD supposed to be transit. However, for the first part of AMD-WAW-MSK-BEG-AMD, I would like to leave the luggage at the Schiphol Airport baggage depot.
I found online that Baggage Depot at Schiphol Airport is at the arrival hall, so have some questions:
1. Does it mean I must to first enter the country and leave my bag at baggage depot and depart again?
2. Can I check in 1 bag TPE-AMD-WAW all the way and another TPE-AMD and only clear this one for baggage depot? Or must I clear 2 bags and recheck in for AMD-WAW?
3. Does anyone have any idea if baggage depot opens on Easter Monday?
Thanks for all your help.

"Timing can be volatile, but there's a general progression from croci in the middle of March, daffodils and narcissi from the end of March to the middle of April, early tulips and hyacinths from the second week of April to the end of the month, and late tulips immediately afterward. An early or late spring can shift these approximate dates by as much as two weeks."
We are wondering if, by chance Amsterdam is having an early spring or a warm spell. We'd love to see the tulips!

What are the best coffee shops for people over 50?
I have a two questions!
1) Are there any coffee houses near the Anne Frank Museum? Some of us want to visit the museum and others do not so that will give the others something to do while they wait for us.

Are there "cafes" near the I airport. l have to spend the night there and need a little something to help me sleep, if you know what I mean.
I posted on here some time ago seeking assistance in my quest to be able to work in Amsterdam. The help I received and the contacts I have has secured me a job in Amsterdam which I am extremely happy about. I will be working at the Schiphol airport and my accommodation is in a village called Wijk Aan Zee - around 30 minutes drive from the airport.
I am extremely happy to be experiencing this position in Amsterdam, I am also being accompanied by my long time friend who has been employed for the same position. We will be accommodated together. He is 21 and I am 20, we are both born in the UK. We both have a passion for music and are willing to work hard to be able to enjoy the luxuries Amsterdam has to offer. We would love to have the pleasure of experiencing different lines of work in Amsterdam, networking with locals and meeting new people.
We have been researching travel routes to central Amsterdam online and we have discovered it's easily accessible by bus in train in roughly 1 hour each way which is great so on some of our days off of work we can go and explore Dam central. We are keen to explore many parts of Amsterdam also, both of us are (attempting) to learn Dutch.
The reason I am posting here are as follows.
I was firstly wondering if anybody reading this has lived in Wijk Aan Zee, that would have anything to say about it for example the food, transport, coffee shops (if any) etc. This is our first time living in Amsterdam.
We are also calling for any other advice from Dutch residents which they'd be willing to give regarding a transition to living in Amsterdam, who may have started in a similar position as my friend and I. It was our dream to work in Amsterdam and make a new lives for ourselves and it has finally come true. As I said earlier, we would love to network with as many people in the dutch community as possible to better our stay and so that we can become a part of the community.
Any comments are welcome, we will be arriving in Amsterdam just in time for 4/20!
