Hi everyone! I will be traveling to Amsterdam in November and I wanted to possibly go to London as well. Can I go by train to London and how long is the ride? Thanks for your help.
You can, using the Eurostar. This means you have to get to Belgium or France and make a connection there. Taking the train from Amsterdam to Brussels would get you to a point where you can connect for the ~ 2 hour journey. Amsterdam to Brussels will be at least 2 hours as well.

It's a bit under two hours from Amsterdam to Brussels (if the train's on time :-) now that the new high speed line opened. That means you can do Amsterdam - London in about 5 hours. (The fastest connection is 4h47), and Eurostar does sell through tickets. See www.eurostar.com.

I will fly from Amsterdam to London by Ryanair, it is cheaper and faster. Why not check it out.

Hi, Other options are by bus (http://www.eurolines.nl/?lang=ENG) or with a (budget) airline such as Easyjet (easyjet.com/asp/en/book/inde.... Cheers, Dennis

ryanair flys to Eindhoven which is a 90 min train trip & there is also an express bus. If you do decide to travel with ryanair be sure to check out all extra costs involved also the flight goes into stanstead another lengthy & pricey trip into central london. I would either travel eurostar or flights with klm, ba will get you to Heathrow. Flights take less then 1hr

London City Airport is a better (i.e. closer) option than Heathrow, Gatwick or Stansted. The airport is smaller than the other three London airports and thus easier to negotiate. Security queues are usually shorter because the airport has fewer flights with smaller aircraft. British Airways, KLM and VLM have flights to London City from Amsterdam.
