Well you can't purchase anything as all the land is owned by the samoans. There is a 2 bedroom house I know of for rent for600. There aren't any good beaches here and most places have no A/C. It's very rugged and the Samoan people litter constantly. There are stray dogs EVERYWHERE. I'm not saying this to deture you from coming here, just telling you how it is. There is literally one hiking trail on the island which goes down from Alava Mtn. All the other trails I had searched for on the internet or what not before coming here looked good, like Massacre Bay, etc. but they have all been made into dirt roads by the Samoans. There is really not a whole lot to do here. I heard Ofu was rated with the 4th best beaches by the Travel Channel. Maybe that would be a better destination?
