Has anyone stayed at Mata Chica resort? Give us the low down on the property. Thanks
We didn't stay there but we did have dinner at their restaurant one night, Mombo. Momob was very exotic and the food was wonderful, but very pricey. Honestly, even though the food & ambience were great, I think it was overpriced. Mata Chica is pretty far from San Pedro, about a 20-30 minute ride on the boat taxi, so there is virtually no night life. If you're seeking seclusion then it may be the perfect place for you, but if you want to go out for dinner, do some shopping, etc. it will would be better to stay closer to San Pedro. 30 minutes on a boat taxi doesn't sound bad, but the boat goes fast, it's windy and it can get quite cold, so be prepared.
