I'm going to spend few days in Amasra this year. Are there any good restaurants? Any special dishes to be ordered? What is the most popular dish there? What is the regular price level? How much will I pay for an average dinner? Any special places to be visited in Amasra and around Amasra? Any advice is welcome! Thanks Wilhelm664
Hi Wilhelm, There are several fish restaurants at seaside, next to each other. They are generally cheaper than the fish restaurants in cities. But they mostly fry the fish, unless you specificly ask for the barbecue. They add some pickles into the salad. You can have a fish dinner with alcohol and salad for 25 YTL per person. You should see Bartin, traditional wooden Turkish houses. Kurucasile is a small sea town around. If you have time, Safranbolu is the most interesting town in that region, but not very near. Cheers. I may have the answers to your queries in my Amasra pages. You're most welcome to have a look. Enjoy Amasra, it's laidback atmosphere is a welcome respite from frenetic Istanbul.

Thanks guys! Are there any sandy beaches in Amasra? I've heard about nice places in Cakraz; they say however that the sea is extremely cold there! Is that correct? Are there any other recommended beaches close to Amasra? Safranbolu is definitely on my list of "places to see"! How about Cide? Is it worth visiting? Thanks again! Wilhelm664

Hi Wilhelm, Çakraz is nice, yes. Inkum is a bigger beach, a small and local holiday town. If you have time, Cide is not bad. Don't miss Safranbolu. Cheers. Alper

Safranbolu could be very touristy, but the Ottoman houses are a must see. Enjoy yourself!

OK - thanks! And how am I supposed to get to Inkum? Are there any minibuses from Amasra that would go to Inkum, Bogaz? Please advise. Regards, Wilhelm664
